Liza Mackintosh

Biography

Liza creates calming abstract paintings inspired by the ever changing landscape around her. Built up through thoughtful layers of paint the works are visual poems, memories of the landscapes that inform them.

‘‘I paint to express my own personal experience of the landscapes I encounter. My paintings take place intuitively, I allow each mark to inform the next and for the painting to unfold in an organic way, much like the landscape they refer to. I hope my paintings can take the viewer on a visual journey and to evoke their own personal memories and experiences through the expression of my own.’’

Liza graduated from Wimbledon College of Art, where she completed a BA in Fine Art Painting in 2015.Before beginning her degree Liza studied at Falmouth University College in Cornwall for a year, exposing her to varied elements of art practice before specialised in Painting. 

Since graduating Liza has exhibited her work regularly, receiving the Clyde and Co Art Awards, being selected for the Affordable Art Fair Graduate exhibition as well as exhibiting at the Society of Woman artists and the Institute of Watercolour exhibitions at the Mall Galleries, London.
