Biography
Emma’s work pulls inspiration from the natural world and is then re-imagined into contemporary landscapes of her own. Drawing from her emotions and instinct whilst using a variety of materials, mostly acrylic paint, pastels and graphite as her mediums.
Emma’s work brings a sense of serenity and depth, balancing the chaos against moments of calm. This latest body of work was inspired by floral bouquets and wild gardens alongside self-reflection.
ARTIST STATEMENT
”I am Interested in making the viewer feel some sort of connection or emotional response, and for them to then question that response and feel it deeply.
There is something that draws me in emotionally to abstract art. Feelings are attached to colour or a shape, they are emotive. It’s visceral for me, a gut feeling and for me painting this way is how I can truly express myself.”
