Biography

Claire Lardner Burke has long been fascinated by the process of time upon nature, the beautiful marks of age and weathering, particularly on rock and stone, and tries to capture this quiet beauty in her work. Claire both throws and hand coils light delicate vessels, leaving the surfaces rough and marked.

Claire studied at Putney School of Art, London, and was trained by John Dawson. Shew has exhibited widely across the UK.
